Betty Lou Ettesvold, 79 of Granite Falls, died Thursday, October 22, 2009 in her home in Granite Falls.

    Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 26, 2009 in the Granite Falls Lutheran Church. 


    Betty Lou Ettesvold, 79 of Granite Falls, died Thursday, October 22, 2009 in her home in Granite Falls.

    Betty Lou Ettesvold was born March 28, 1930 in Cyrus to Carl and Inga (Anderson) Anderson. She grew up in the Cyrus and Morris area graduating from Cyrus High School in June of 1948. Betty Lou was united in marriage to Dale Ettesvold on September 23, 1950 in St. Petri Lutheran Church in Cyrus and they lived in Granite Falls where she did the bookkeeping for her husband’s trucking business and worked in the dry cleaners after Dale’s death. She was a very active member of the Granite Falls Lutheran Church belonging to the WELCA, the Alter Guild and Mission Committee, as well as with the ladies quilting group. Betty Lou also belonged to the Sons of Norway. She enjoyed quilting, playing cards and bingo.
    She is survived by her children Dayton Ettesvold  of Gilbert, Arizona and Dawn Rogge and husband Elwin of Fishers, Indiana; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren; Josh (Maren) Ettesvold and their children Jacob, Erik and Maija; Jeremy Ettesvold, Jeff Ettesvold and wife Jackie; Brett Rogge and wife Diana and son Hampton and Meredith Chunn and husband Cliff; as well as two sisters, Carol Boettcher and Avis Brandt,  both of Morris. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dale on October 25, 1987 and three sisters.
