Tyler Jensvold, Yellow Medicine East alumnus and current freshman golfer for Augustana College in Sioux Falls, helped Augustana post their best round of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship as the team finished sixth on Sunday at the Jewel Golf Course in Lake City.
The first two rounds of the tournament were held this fall, prior to Jensvold joining the team.
Jensvold registered a 6-over, 77 in the final round after turning in a 76 in Saturday’s third round. Jensvold’s score was the third best score for players who did not card complete results in the split-season championship series.
Minnesota State won its fourth-straight conference title, posting a four-round score of 1,206.
St. Cloud State's Charlie West won the individual championship, beating Upper Iowa's Jon Anderson on a three-hole playoff. Both players finished at 3-over-par 287.
The Vikings' sixth-place NSIC finish is their best since the 2008-09 season when they took fifth in their inaugural season in the league.
Augustana will compete at the Winona State Invitational on April 22 and 23.
