The Yellow Medicine East boys’ golf team lost their first home meet on Thursday as Dawson-Boyd strode onto the Granite Run Golf Course to steal a nine stroke dual victory.

 

The Dawson-Boyd boys posted a team score 171 to top YME’s score of 180. Ryan Sumner shot a 39 to lead the Blackjacks, and Easton Popma shot a 41.

 

YME’s low round came from sophomore Mitch McCosh who swung a 41. Jordan Zens followed with a 43, while Mitch’s old brother, Spencer McCosh drove a 47. Charles Blue rounded out the Sting card with a 49.

The Yellow Medicine East girls’ golf team lost their first home dual on Thursday by a single stroke as Dawson-Boyd clipped the Sting 217 to 218 at Granite Run Golf Course.

 

Ashley Abraham had the low round for the Blackjacks, shooting a 39. Tracy Polzine added a 53.

 

Freshman Leah Jeseritz led the Sting with a 51, while fellow freshman Erica Moritz followed with a 54. Seniors Tianna Gardner and Claressa Thielen filled out YME’s score with a 55 and a 58, respectively.
