    Yellow Medicine East placed fifth at the 15 team Ortonville Invitational Monday, while conference rival Montevideo took top honors with four golfers placing in the top 10 at the Ortonville Golf Course.


     


    Former YME student Mike Moritz took medalist honors for Montevideo by firing a 1-over 73.

    Yellow Medicine East placed fifth at the 15 team Ortonville Invitational Monday, while conference rival Montevideo took top honors with four golfers placing in the top 10 at the Ortonville Golf Course.
     
    Former YME student Mike Moritz took medalist honors for Montevideo by firing a 1-over 73.
     
    For the Sting, Jordan Zens led with an 82 with Charles Blue carding an 87, Sam Jans an 89 and Spencer McCosh a 90.
     
    The leader board at the Ortonville Invitational was awash with top West Central Conference golfers. Behind Moritz, Benson’s Sam Peterson and Montevideo’s Philip Ward tied for second.
     
    YME next will attack the Benson Golf Club for the Benson Invitational on Wednesday and then resume the conference chase with their home meet at Granite Run Golf Course on Thursday.
