    Yellow Medicine East’s Mitch McCosh came just two strokes short of medalist honors Monday at Pomme de Terre Golf Club swinging a 35 to finish in second place behind Benson/ Kerkhoven- Murdock-Sunburg Sam Peterson’s 33.

    Yellow Medicine East’s Mitch McCosh came just two strokes short of medalist honors Monday at Pomme de Terre Golf Club swinging a 35 to finish in second place behind Benson/ Kerkhoven- Murdock-Sunburg Sam Peterson’s 33.
     
    As a team the Sting finished in third place with a combined score of 163— just one stroke behind Montevideo, second place and 162. With Peterson, Benson/KMS won the meet with 158.  
     
    Rounding out the Sting card, Jordan Zens came in with a 42, while Spencer McCosh and Grant Lalim each posted a 43.
     
    The Thunder Hawks, who trail the Braves by two points in the conference standings, host the next league meet on Thursday.

    Yellow Medicine East sophomore Mitch McCosh burned up the Granite Run Golf Course along with Benson/Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg’s Jordan Burns to tie for medalist honors with 37s Thursday in Granite Falls.
     
    Montevideo would win the meet and move into second place in the West Central Conference South points race. Benson currently sits in first place in the WCC-S, after two meets.
     
    For the Sting, Jordan Zens followed eight strokes behind McCosh with a 45. Meanwhile, Charles Blue entered the Granite Run clubhouse with a 46 as Spencer McCosh swung a 47.
