  •     Sylvia Hacker, 95, of Montevideo, died on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud.
      Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, May 15,  at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Donald S. McKee officiating. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.  
        Sylvia (Molden) Hacker was born on February 16, 1917 in rural Watson to Eddy and Clara (Hanson) Molden. She grew up in the rural Watson area and graduated from Montevideo High School. She attended Normal Training in Monte-video and taught in rural schools for two years.  On June 19, 1938 she was united in marriage to Henry W. Hacker in Watson. They farmed in the Montevideo area for many years. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and was involved with women’s church groups She enjoyed card playing, bowling, going out for coffee, cooking, baking, dancing, and music.  She also enjoyed traveling, politics, collecting recipes, learning new things and planned and designed her home.
        She is survived by four children: Clara Aly of Pasadena, California; Henry E. Hacker of Hopkins;  Betty (Charlie) Harguth of Maynard and Paul Hacker of Montevideo; grandchildren: Rhonda (Harguth) Helm, Vincent Harguth, Abigail Hacker and Henry P. Hacker; great grandchildren: Jennessa and Makayla Helm and KaiteLynn, Jessica and Andrew Harguth; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.
        She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry in 1993, and by two sisters, Margaret Christensen and Olga Hilden.

        Congregational Hymns: “Amazing Grace”,  “Now Thank We All Our God”, and  “Beautiful Savior”.
        Casket Bearers: Grand-children Rhonda Helm and Vincent Harguth; Abby Hacker and Henry P. Hacker, great grandchildren Jennessa, Makayla, KaiteLynn, Jessica and Andrew.
        Arrangements were with Anderson Funeral Home of Montevideo.
