    Yellow Medicine East lost in a pitchers duel Tuesday night with Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta nipping them 1-0 at Richter Field.


     


    YME’s Austin Thorstad finished the game allowing just five hits, while his counterpart Sam Mattson dealt a four hitter.

    Yellow Medicine East lost in a pitchers duel Tuesday night with Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta nipping them 1-0 at Richter Field.


     


    YME’s Austin Thorstad finished the game allowing just five hits, while his counterpart Sam Mattson dealt a four hitter.


     


    The only runner crossing the plate was in the top of the third. Tanner Picht’s hard double into the wind coming over the right-field wall scored Bryce Jergeson, who had walked, from second base.


     


    YME had the bases loaded with one out in the sixth but Mattson got a double-play ball to end the inning.

    YME 10, ACGC 0

    Yellow Medicine East captured two wins in a double header Thursday against Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City at Richter Field.


     


    Yellow Medicine won Game One 10-0 and Game Two 12-2. Both games ended after six innings.


     


    YME’s Aaron Zieske had a home run among his three hits, he drove in three runs and scored four times while also picking up the pitching win in Game One. Zieske allowed just two hits, a walk and he struck out nine.


     


    In the second game, YME scored six runs in the fourth inning to erase a 2-1 ACGC lead.


     


    Austin Thorstad had two hits and drove in a pair of runs, and Elliot Carmany had a hit and four RBIs. Reishus had a hit and drove in two runs.
