The Kilowatts held a 3-1 lead through seven innings Sunday, but it would be erased by a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh as New Ulm stole away a 4-3 victory Sunday in New Ulm.
New Ulm’s Wade French hit the game winning blast with two outs in the bottom frame to mar what had been a solid outing by Kilowatts starting pitcher Andrew Walters. Walters allowed just one run over 6 2/3 innings and ended the night with five strikeouts and just two walks, yet allowed all four runs.
Leading the Kilowatt offense was Tyler Damman and Jake Suter. Damman crossed the plate for two runs in a 2-for-5 performance as Suter provided a double and an RBI, while also going 2-for-5. Walters, as well, collected two hits on the night.
The Kilowatts return home to Richter Field Wednesday night to host the Dawson Drakes.

    Marshall 18, G. F. 6
A publisher and a photographer came out to Richter Field Friday night to collect interviews and photos for an upcoming book on town-team baseball.
Thankfully, the photographer was there to document the beauty of the Kilowatt’s home field and not the play on it, as Granite Falls took an 18-6 smacking from the Marshall A’s.
Marshall tallied 21 hits in a game that was over before the lights warmed up. Leading the onslaught was former Kilowatt and current Southwest Minnesota State Mustang Tyler Flattum, who bashed a home run on his way to four hits on the night.
