  •     The Granite Falls  Clarkfield and Echo  Lions Club is working to help the Salvation Army as they continue to support children year-round.
Although the Salvation Army is most known for their holiday kettles, the work and its dedication to its communities and children extend well beyond disaster response and fundraising.
The Salvation Army continues to support children with back-to-school backpacks and  supplies, geared towards supplying kids with what they need for the year and sustaining them for success. Donations that stem from each city are returned to students within the location of each donation’s origination.
Local Yellow Medicine County coordinator Kay Bestland said that they are asking the community to donate to help fill up a backpack that will then be given to a needy school child within Yellow Medicine  County, for the upcoming school year.
The Salvation Army recognizes that needs have no season. Empowering and encouraging today’s kids may mean impacting the numbers of those in need tomorrow.
Donations may be sent to: Citizens Alliance Bank, Salvation Army, P.O. Box 68, Granite Falls, MN 56241.
