Harry Burthus, 85, of Granite Falls, died Thursday, July 26, 2012, at the Clara City Care Center.
Memorial services were held on Wednesday, August 1, at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home Chapel in Granite Falls.
Burial will be held at a later date.
Harry Otto Burthus was born in rural Cottonwood on October 29, 1926, the son of Otto and Mary (Ree) Burthus. He graduated from the Granite Falls High School. Harry served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on April 29, 1947. He returned to Granite Falls where he was a Foreman for Rogers and later operated an automotive repair shop until his retirement. Harry was united in marriage to Darlene Siverhus on July 17, 1950, in Montevideo.
Harry was a devoted husband and father. He was a member of the Granite Falls American Legion and the Granite Falls Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his son Allan (Debra) of Granite Falls; grandsons: Adam of St. Paul and Ryan of Little Canada; sister: Carol Hirmer of Marshall and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; one sister; and his wife, Darlene, in 1999.
