CMCS 3, YME 0
The Yellow Medicine East volleyball team begins their season 0-2 following a quick sweep at the hands of Central Minnesota Christian during YME's home opener Tuesday night at Espeland Gymnasium.
The BlueJays made quick work of the Sting; subduing them in straight games 25-11, 25-6 and 25-20.
The stats, like the games, play completely in CMCS's favor.
For the BlueJays Kari Blom was the offensive and defensive leader with 14 kills and 15 digs. She was followed by teammates Kristin Slagter and Alexis Scott, who each tallied 11 kills a piece.
Comparitively, Chyanne Sand paced YME with three kills and two ace blocks. Other kills came from Brooke Blue (2) and Nena McCalla.
McCalla also led YME defensively with six digs.
The Sting return to the court in a week with a home match next Tuesday against BOLD, who lost a 3-1 match against RCW Tuesday night.

MACCRAY 3, YME 1
A roster was needed to name YME's rotation for the first time in several years as a cadre of fresh names and faces took to the court with YME making their first attempt at replacing five starters from a year ago with a match against MACCRAY.
MACCRAY, another young area team, dispatched YME 3-1 Friday night in the season opener for both teams at the MACCRAY fieldhouse in Clara City.
The Wolverines defeated the Sting 25-11, 25-17, 18-25 and 25-16.
"We're a young team. And I think definitely we saw some nerves out there tonight," said YME head coach Tasha Feldman following the game. "We knew coming in that our serve/receive game was something we had to work on and that was exploited tonight."
Individually for YME, sophomore Chyanne Sand logged 12 kills, while junior setter Alexis Peters served up 19 set assists. Defensively, senior Nena McCalla led with 13 digs, while fellow senior Danie Roden went 18-for-19 from the service line with four aces.
