Floyd A. Johnson, 81, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2012 at Fridley’s Unity Hospital, in Fridley.
A Memorial Service was held on Wednesday, October 17 at St. Phillips Lutheran Church in Fridley, officiated by Pastor Jan Hartsook. A private interment was held.
Floyd Allen Johnson, son of William “Bill” and Esther Johnson was born on November 12, 1930 in Montevideo. He had two siblings, older brother Willis and younger brother, Dennis, who died as an infant. Floyd grew up in Hazel Run and farmed with his dad and brother for many years. He was confirmed at Hazel Run Lutheran Church and graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1948. Floyd married Yvonne Flogstad on November 8, 1958 in St. James and they had four children: Dana, Zane, Keir and Nicole.
Floyd was preceded in death by wife, Yvonne; parents; and infant brother.
He is survived by children: Dana (Sheila), Zane, Kier (Julie), Nicole Kamp (Jochen); grandchildren: Nicholas, Erica, Ian, Drew, Will, Mattias and Juliette; brother Willis (Arlyss); sister-in-law Joan; also many nieces and nephew.
Arrangements were with Miller Funeral Home of Fridley.
