In John Berends we have a committed, capable candidate who will hit the ground running should he win the election. John has attended every commissioners' meeting since deciding to run four months ago. This is important because the new commissioner will begin serving immediately to fill the term left vacant by the death of Dick Wambeke. Normally, the term would not begin until 2013.
John's willingness to listen is a quality that will serve the citizens of YMC well. He will listen to citizens' concerns just as he has listened to commissioners' discussions. His business experience and education will give him insight on his vote later this year on the $17 million budget for 2013.
John has many qualifications that make him my choice for the office of County Commissioner in District 2. I hope that he'll be your choice, too.
