Roger Tjosvold, 80, of Granite Falls, died Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park as a result of an automobile accident. Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 27 at the Granite Falls Lutheran Church, with burial at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Roger Ordell Tjosvold was born April 11, 1932 to Conrad and Ann Tjosvold. He was baptized and confirmed at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. He graduated from Granite Falls High School and worked on the home farm.
On June 11, 1955, Roger was united in marriage to Belva Sederstrom. They were married for 53 years. They had three children: Pam, Sara and Jon.
Roger earned a nest egg to start his business by custom farming. He opened the original Tjosvold Equipment on County Road 5 and progressed to the current location on Highway 212. Roger's profession allowed his gregarious personality to flourish. He lived to tease and took every opportunity with children, dogs and unsuspecting waitresses.
Roger's prize possession was his family. Whether it was cabin time at Lake Koronis or a card game at the kitchen table, family and togetherness brought him his greatest joy.
He is survived by his children: Pam (Joe) Limke of Albuquerque, NM, Sara (Rich) Svir of Lino Lakes and Jon (Jennifer ) Tjosvold of Granite Falls; grandchildren: Katie, Derek, Nathan, Travis, Hallie, Nicholas, Tyler, Lauren and Jack; siblings Beverly (Duane) Mattheis, Paul (Ann) Tjosvold and Curtis (Pat) Tjosvold; and several close extended family and friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his wife Belva Tjosvold; parents Conrad and Ann Tjosvold; and numerous aunts, uncles and extended family.
Arrangements were with the Wing-Bain Funeral Home of Granite Falls.
