"I truly enjoy working in Yellow Medicine County," he said at the time. "We have a great group of department heads and great staff, and the board has allowed us to do a lot of progressive things. It is a difficult decision to make –– YMC has been a fantastic place to work –– but this is an opportunity with Nicollet County that is too good for me to turn down..."
Krosch noted that he had not been shopping his services. Nicollet County was the lone position he has considered as a destination, in large because of family members living in the area, he said.
According to the St. Peter Herald, Krosch will start his position at Nicollet County at the beginning of the new year, or January 2. He is to receive a starting salary of $111,586.
Krosch was hired as Yellow Medicine County's first administrator in 2007 with a salary of $74,099. At the time of his departure, he was earning $97,509.82. During his time he has managed to lead the county through a substantial transformation intended to create efficiencies and improve service delivery by bringing county operations and systems, technological and otherwise, up to date.
According to county officials, Krosch will be finished with Yellow Medicine County at the end of the year. In the meantime, the board is expected to appoint an interim administrator and to utilize upcoming meetings to begin discussing how and if the county will replace Krosch.
Most likely it will either be YMC Finance Manager Michelle May, HR Coordinator Teagan Laleman or a combination of the two who are asked to serve as interim for Krosch. Both have worked with Krosch in close quarters within the Finance and Administration department.
