At the November 13 YME school board meeting Superintendent Al Stoeckman reported that Education Minnesota -YME has agreed to submit a Letter of Intent to develop a Quality Compensation (Q Comp) plan. This means the Minnesota Department of Education will earmark approximately $135,000 for YME. A committee will be meeting to design a plan to fit YME which meets the 5 components of Q Comp: Career Ladder/Advancement, Job-embedded Profes-sional Development, Teacher Evaluation/ Observation, Performance Pay, Alternate Salary Schedule. When the plan is complete, it needs to be approved by both the teachers and the school district.

•Stoeckman also reported that he and the principals and one teacher had attended the first of three workshops on Teacher and Principal Evaluations.
This is part of the No Child Left Behind waiver to establish consistent evaluations for teachers and principals which will be put into place for the 2014-2015 school year. Future dates are February 8 and April 2. Three additional teachers have agreed to be part of a committee developing evaluations: Jake Suter, Melissa Larson and Becky Leiseth. Steve Zumhofe will be a School Board representative on the committee.
•The board accepted the resignation of long-time athletic equipment manager Chris Morris, effective Nov. 30.
