  • Through the month of December  the art of Granite Falls resident Tamara Isfeld will be displayed at the K.K. Berge Gallery.
An opening night reception will be held this Friday, December 7 from 7:00 to p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Isfeld says that she has always known that art would play a definitive role in her life. As a youth she initially attended school for commercial art before returning two decades later to obtain a degree in Arts Education. Over the past 10 years she has taught in the public school system and is presently the art instructor for Renville County West.
Isfeld works through multiple mediums including graphic art and sculpture, but primarily she  expresses herself through acrylic paint.
“Most of my work has a relation to place––rural farm scenes remembered while growing up in southwestern Minnesota and also time spent living in South Dakota. I’m influenced from personal human experience as a daughter, wife and mother,” she said.
Isfeld’s artistic talents have also been employed by a number of local institutions. A few examples include the Granite Falls Kiwanis Club and Clarkfield Area Charter School who commissioned her to design and paint the Kiwanis popcorn stand as well as the CACS gym, respectively.
Isfeld has dubbed gallery showing “God’s Whisper” as a tribute to the moments of peace experienced during her artistic journey while creating with “a clear mind and sense of spiritual purpose.”
“Typically a walk in nature gives me the inspiration for the works, and I prefer to blend this with the common everyday human experience, showing moments that are often taken for granted,” she said. “I hope you can take a moment during this busy holiday season to hear the whisper through my paintings.”
Following Saturday’s opening night reception, Isfeld’s works will be available for perusal and/or purchase during regularly scheduled gallery hours, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
