  • Silhouettes host Invitational Saturday

  • “They were all at practice yesterday, so I'm hopeful,” said Yellow Medicine East Silhouette head coach Chris Nerdahl with a slight chuckle when asked about her team and whether they'd be healthy for Saturday's YME Dance Team Invitational.

Saturday's invitational is an annual event and fundraiser for the Silhouettes where YME will play host this year to 14 area danceline teams.

Last week was a tough week for the team with viruses rampaging schools state-wide. The Silhouettes were one of several area teams forced to back out of last week's Marshall Invitational due to sickness.
"By Friday I had 14 girls home sick (roughly half the varsity high kick squad)," said Nerdahl.
But all appears set for Saturday's competition, which may be one of the most competitive invitationals the team has hosted with rivals Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd, Renville County West, BOLD and New Ulm Cathedral all set to attend.
