Affiliated Community Medical Center (ACMC) Register Nurse (RN) and Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP), Marcia Kells, has moved on from her post as a Family Nurse Practitioner at ACMC in Granite Falls.
Kells completed her final day with ACMC last week. She has taken a job where she'll serve in a like capacity at the Avera Healthcare Center in Tyler.
Kells had provided medical services locally for the past 15 years. Presently on vacation, she was unable to be reached for the article.
"Marcia Kells served her ACMC patients and our community well for years and she will be missed by her patients," said Granite Falls Hospital Administrator and CEO, George Gerlach. "Unfortunately, Marcia's departure will leave a noticeable gap in our complement of providers."
According to Gerlach, a part-time family physician, Dr. Stephen Olsen, will be responsible for filling in for Kells until ACMC has located a suitable replacement for the Family Nurse Practitioner. "Their goal is to have another female provider on board as soon as they identify and hire the right person," he said.
According to information from ACMC, Dr. Olsen practices Family Medicine with a particular interest in preventive medicine and geriatrics. He attended the University of Minnesota, Morris as an undergraduate and the University of Minnesota to obtain his medical degree.
Olsen is a member of both the American and Minnesota Medical Associations as well as the Mid-Minnesota Medical Society. He is also certified by the American Board of Family Practice.
