    Yellow Medicine East played thier most competitive game of the season Tuesday night taking BOLD to the wire, but they would come up just short in a 67-61 home loss.
    Sophomore guard Blake Lindstrom put the Sting on his back with an impressive 27-point performance, but a balanced game by BOLD and late free throws proved to be the difference.
    The Sting fought their way back into the game Tuesday night after trailing 41-25 at the half. The Sting played their best half of basketball of the season in the second to claw their way back into it.  
    Lindstrom scored 18 of his points on 3-pointers for the Sting, who are now 0-11 in conference and 1-14 overall. Lindstrom ended the game 6-of-11 from behind the arch and collected five steals.

    CLARA CITY — Carter Asche scored 18 points and Bailey Boike 16 more to help MACCRAY win its fourth straight Monday as the Wolverines toppled Yellow Medicine East 64-28 in a non-conference game between old 212 Conference rivals.
    The Wolverines (14-5) shot just below 50 percent from the field, but they were 19-for-25 (76 percent) from the free throw line.
    MACCRAY also had Taylor Thissen net 10 points, Boike pile up 8 rebounds and 4 assists, Asche pull in 8 boards, and Cody Boonstra and Thissen pocket 3 steals each.
    Austin Vikander led Yellow Medicine East (1-13) scoring column with 9 points, while Logan DeBlieck chipped in 4 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

    Class AA No. 1-ranked Melrose rolled past Yellow Medicine East 96-53, and didn’t skip a beat after ending Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa’s 50-game winning streak on Thursday.
    Melrose’s Scottie Stone had a game-high 28 points, and Isaac Sawyer added 15 points and 3 assists.
    Blake Lindstrom and Chase Richter each scored 12 points for YME (1-12).
    The Sting next play Monday at MACCRAY.
