Phyllis Kjos, 89 of Granite Falls, died on February 10, 2013 at the Granite Falls Municipal Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 18 at 1:30 p.m. at the Granite Falls Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Phyllis Irene Kjos was born December 23, 1923 in Brainerd. Her parents were Clark and Belva Anderson. The family moved to Akeley after a short time and later to Boyd where Phyllis graduated from high school in 1941.
She married Norman Kjos on November 18, 1942 in Appleton. Phyllis worked at Western Union in St. Paul when Norman went into military service. She later joined him in Texas. After the war, they lived in Boyd, Montevideo and Granite Falls. Phyllis was a homemaker and worked as a clerk in a department store. The couple has two sons: Michael (Barb) of Hopkins and Rand (Shelley) of Apple Valley; grandsons Brett of Lindstrom and Ryan (Ashley) of Round Rock, Texas; granddaughters Kayli and Marisa, great grandson Texan and great granddaughter London.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman, and her sister, Marie.
