Auditions for Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre’s original musical production of “Jack and the Beanstalk” will be held on March 4 at 3:15 pm at the YME High School auditorium.
Up to 70 local young people are needed to play the roles of Jack, his fellow Villagers, the Carnival Performers, the People of Orchestrania, the Inhabitants of Featherville, and the Trolls.
Two professional actor/directors from the Prairie Fire staff will direct the production and play the roles of the Giant and the Storyteller.
Auditions are open to anyone in grades 3rd through seniors in high school.
The audition process lasts up to two hours and all auditioners are required to be in attendance the complete time. No preparation is necessary to audition. The cast will be required to stay following auditions for a one hour rehearsal. Rehearsals will be held from 3:15 pm through 7:30 pm the remainder of the week, with performances scheduled for
7 pm on Friday March 8th and Saturday March 9th. This is a full one week commitment from the students. Elective appointments should be scheduled during another time as practice time is important during this one week.
Tickets for the performance are available at the door. $6 adults and $4 students.
This week-long Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre residency is being sponsored by Granite Falls Lions, Granite Falls Kiwanis, the Granite Falls Knights of Columbus, Economart, Subway, Books By Kelly, SMAHC, and the Granite Falls Clarkfield Advocate Tribune.
