Scores of local students team up with two professional actors this weekend to present Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre’s original musical version of the classic tale, “Jack and the Beanstalk”.
Performances are slated for Friday, March 8 and Saturday, March 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the YME auditorium.
“Jack and the Beanstalk”, with script and original music by Bob Gribas and Angela Rinaldi Gribas, and costume and set design by Deborah Pick, continues Prairie Fire’s tradition of presenting classic tales as you’ve never seen them done before. Follow Jack’s adventure up and down the beanstalk through the worlds of “Orchestrania”, where all the people sing, “Featherville”, whose inhabitants are most “fowl”, and “Giantland”, where he meets the mischievous Trolls (and of course, “the Big Guy”).
Prairie Fire professionals, who co-direct the production, will play the role of the Giant and the Storyteller.
Tickets are available at the door for $6 for adults and $4 for students (preschoolers are free).
