A fire displaced 14 people in a Sacred Heart home. The fire started around 9:33 Saturday night, March 30.
Located on 521 Second Ave. S., the fire began in the upstairs bedroom window, according to Sacred Heart Fire Chief Jeff Agre.
“I believe the fire was either an accident or an electrical problem,” said Agre. “An investigation is going on to figure out the cause.”
The fire displaced two families with three adults and 11 children, ranging in ages two to 16. They were present at the time of the fire according to the American Red Cross.
Everyone in the home was able to get out unharmed. The occupants of the home are currently staying with relatives in Granite Falls.
The American Red Cross along with the Sacred Heart Police Department and Renville County Sheriff’s Office responded to the fire.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Renville County Sheriff’s Office and State Fire Marshal’s Office.
