I would like to take this time to thank the staff and most of the city council for moving forward with the hydro project. This is just common sense.
There seems to be a group that wants to destroy a major part of Granite Falls’ history. We were known as the Power City for numerous years. Let’s continue this history. We need to have some form of green energy, let’s use the thing we are familiar with – hydropower.
Removing the dam is one of the dumbest things you could do. Living and working close to the dam for quite a while and visiting with out-of-town visitors, the dam is the big draw, not rapids. There are several rapids in the river for people to see now.
Good job on saving the hydros and dam.
