The Associated Press reported Friday that legendary country singer George Jones has died at the age of 81. According to reports, Jones died after being hspitalized for a fever and blood pressure issues.
Jones - who is in the Country Music Hall of Fame - had No. 1 songs in five decades and recorded more than 150 albums. His hits included “She Thinks I Still Care,” “The Grand Tour,” “Walk Through This World With Me,” “Tender Years” and “He Stopped Loving Her Today.”
Bob Allen wrote in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s “Encyclopedia of Country Music" about Jones, “A singer who can soar from a deep growl to dizzying heights, he is the undisputed successor of earlier natural geniuses such as Hank Williams and Lefty Frizzell.”
