The Minnesota River Valley Scenic Byway is coordinating a "Byway-long Garage Sale" on Saturday, May 4, which is the same time that the city of Granite Falls will be holding its annual garage sale.
The goal of the Scenic Byway is to get people out-and-about along the 287-mile long byway to learn about the region's natural and historic sites. In light of the shared date, the City of Granite Falls will allow vendor tables on the downtown plazas Saturday, May 4 for garage sale or craft items.
To help achieve that goal, it is hoped to have people participate by hosting a garage sale and for the public to patronize those sales. There is no formal structure to this operation. No license, fees, paperwork or anything else. It has been publicized at various at outlets along the Byway.
For sellers, it is asked that they put up red balloons and signage along the Scenic Byway to attract customers. For garage sale patrons, look for red balloons and signs that will direct one to the sale site.
