Melvin C. Anderson, 90, of Cottonwood, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 as the result of injuries he suffered while burning ditches on his farm.
A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, May 16, at St. Lucas Lutheran Church, officiated by Pastor David Wall, with burial at St. Lucas Lutheran Ceme-tery, Normania Township.
Melvin was born to Carl and Minnie (Brenden) Anderson on July 12, 1922. He married Erma Olson on February 4, 1961. He spent his entire life on the same farm. Melvin loved to fish, hunt, golf and play cards. He was very involved in and supportive of local community activities. He was inquisitive, quiet, full of common sense and truly knew what was important in life. He lived simply and was content with himself, his life style and his many friends. He was loved by many.
Melvin was preceded in death by his wife, Erma; brothers: Harold and Arvid Anderson; sister: Bernice Sanders; and niece: JoAnn Sanders.
He is survived by brother-in-law Larry Sanders and eight nieces and nephews.
