    Austin Vikander threw a three-hit shutout Monday as Granite Falls Legion Post 69 rolled on Montevideo for 4-0 victory.

    Throwing a complete game, Vikander struck out four and walked four from the mound. He’d also put in his work offensively with a 2-for-3 two-RBI performance that included a double.

    Throwing a complete game, Vikander struck out four and walked four from the mound. He’d also put in his work offensively with a 2-for-3 two-RBI performance that included a double.
    “We had another solid defensive game, and Austin pitched a gem,” said Post 69 manager Nick Richter. “We did a lot of the little things right, and just played a solid baseball game.  Montevideo has a good team, and it was a good win for us.  With playoffs starting soon, hopefully we can build some momentum and keep this rolling.”
    Chris Jensen also had a nice night at the plate going 3-for-4 and scoring two runs. Elliot Carmany, meanwhile, picked up an RBI for Post 69 while going 1-for-4.

    Cottonwood plated two runs in the seventh to break a 4-4 tie Thursday night in Granite Falls and would go on to secure a 6-4 victory against Granite Falls Legion Post 69.
    Granite Falls had taken a 3-1 lead after the first inning when Austin Vikander doubled in a run and Reed Raddatz soon followed with a two-run single. Zach Fischer then knocked in a run in the fifth to tie the game at 4-4.
    Cody St. Aubin and Brad Boerboom took turns driving in runs for the Cottonwood Legion baseball team during the seventh inning Thursday night at Granite Falls, with the RBIs proving the difference in a 6-4 win for Cottonwood.
    Bayley Enstad started for Cottonwood, taking a no-decision after allowing four runs over five innings with five walks. Wyatt Schuster tossed two scoreless innings of relief to pick up the win.
    Joe Sannerud went the distance in defeat for Granite Falls, while Austin Vikander had the game's only extra-base hit with a double.
