  • LaVerne H. Just of Glenwood, 91, died Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Glenwood Retirement Village.   •     LaVerne H. Just of Glenwood, 91, died Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Glenwood Retirement Village.
        Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 30 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Glenwood,  Interment was in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Granite Falls.             
        LaVerne Hulda (Kruse) Just, the daughter of Phillip and Minnie (Doose) Kruse, was born December 23, 1921, in Minnesota Falls Township, Yellow Medicine County.  She attended school in Hanley Falls.  On August 30, 1939, LaVerne was united in marriage to Erwin Just, son of Arthur and Anna Just.  The couple made their home and farmed in Minnesota Falls Township until 1962, when they moved to Brandon, farming there until 1969, when they moved to Glenwood.
        LaVerne worked at Glenwood Retirement Home for 19 years in the laundry.  She enjoyed gardening, spending time at the lake, watching the Twins and Vikings and spending time with friends and family.  
        LaVerne and Erwin were blessed with six children, three of whom survive her.  One of her children was stillborn, her daughter, Phyllis
    Dorn died in 1991 from cancer and her son, LeRoy Just died in 2011.  
        LaVerne is survived by two daughters, Delores Wickstrom of Sacred Heart; and Marlys Ulven (and special friend, Jim) of Virginia; and a son, Ron Just (and special friend, Julie) of Glenwood; a son-in-law, Clarence Dorn (and special friend, Cindy) of Urbank; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a brother, Daniel (Mary) Kruse of Alexandria; a sister, Mabel Jensen of Montevideo; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
        She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Erwin, in 1988; her daughter, Phyllis Dorn; a son-in-law, Sheldon Wickstrom in 2006; her son, LeRoy Just; two sisters, Minne Hanson and Lorena Miller; and two brothers, Phillip Kruse, Jr. and Pat Kruse.
