  • Lacey Cameron Washington, a 31-year-old woman currently residing in Granite Falls, has been charged with two counts of Financial Transaction Card Fraud and more charges are pending after a spree of thefts in Granite Falls.
The current charges against Washington allege that Washington stole an ATM card and attempted to obtain $303.25 while at Casey’s convenience store in Granite Falls.
Granite Falls Police first came in contact with Washington on July 20 at about 11:37 a.m. Police Chief Russ Blue responded to a call from Heather’s Book Nook on Prentice Street. When Blue arrived he was told that Washington had been in the store for about an hour and hid in a bathroom, where she was found and questioned through the door by the owners. Washington eventually came out and the proprietors found one of their laptops and a checkbook belonging to a Lennis Stavne from Hector. The store owners said those items had not been in there before the woman entered the bathroom.
Blue quickly located Washington across the street walking toward him and saying “I don’t have anything on me and there’s nothing you can charge me with.” She would be wrong.
According to police, security footage from Casey’s convenience store show Washington  using Stavne’s card to purchase items and attempt to withdraw the $303.25 at an ATM inside the store. The transaction was blocked because incorrect pin numbers were used.
