A preview of Friday's game against the Paynesville Bulldogs.

Friday's match up: YME (0-4, 0-2) vs. Paynesville (4-0, 1-0), 7:00 p.m. at YME.

Last match up: 2012, 72-0 Paynesville victory

Bulldogs overview: With a 4-0 season record and being the 4th seed in all of Class AA football in Minnesota, Paynesville appears to be the team to beat. Despite an undefeated record, the Bulldogs have slowed down in the last two weeks, failing to be the first scorer and finishing both games with less than a five point spread separating each team. Paynesville is led by their quarterback Matthew Quade, who has averaged over 200 passing yards per game, making him one of the leading quarterbacks in prep football. Quade consistently connects with receivers, including Nick Dingmann and Andrew Topp, each with numerous touchdowns early in the season. Paynesville hit their season high for rushing yards in their season opener against Montevideo with a devastating 414 yards.

Sting overview: This is the closest YME will likely get to a David and Goliath scenario this season. With a 0-4 record, the Sting are polar opposites to Paynesville in terms of record. Compared to seasons of late, gameplay has cleaned up, but not with enough force or pressure to earn a win. Keeping interceptions and fumbles low will only aid YME in what appears to be an uphill battle against a growing powerhouse. Anything better than a 72-0 loss is an improvement, and a home-field advantage never hurts a team's prospects.
