This time of year, the landscapes take over our visual experience with the changing of the seasons. The colors and forms take on new hues and shapes that get us ready for the impending weather.
This month’s K.K. Berge Gallery Artist, Della Conroy, is a Hancock-based painter that presents work in both the realist and abstract forms. Her images of Western Minnesota emit the beauty that many take for granted. She paints scenes depicting the grasses, trees, rivers and lakes found in our area. Her work becomes a visual narrative of the prairie landscape that she expresses through a variety of mediums. Her soft but colorful landscapes exude peace, serenity, and calm.
The work that she has on display at the K.K. Berge Gallery is full of blue, green and red hues that showcase her watercolor and pastel landscapes, acrylic and oil abstracts, and watercolor on yupo paper which is a fairly new and very interesting technique.
The Granite Area Arts Council invites the community to join the group in celebrating Conroy’s work at the reception on Thursday, October 17 from 7 to 9 p.m. The exhibit will be on display from October 7 – 31.
Standard gallery hours: Monday – Friday from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. For more information please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org or call 320-564-4039
