  • Are you looking for something unique to do this Halloween in Granite Falls? Well, did you know that October 31 is also Andrew J. Volstead's birthday? As both events fall on the same day, individuals are invited to come celebrate Andrew J. Volstead's Halloween birthday with the Granite Falls Historical Society a partake in a ghost hunting class with “Minnesota’s Beyond the Veil.” If you are not the ghost hunting type, come to the Volstead House anyway and partake in ‘trick-or-treats that are open to all ages. The outside of the house will be decorated and the historical society will be passing out treats to those who stop by the Volstead House beginning at 4:00 p.m and running to 9:30 p.m. Individuals interested in ghost hunting should bring their own camera, recorder or smart phone. Attendees will receive instructions, be given access to professional ghost hunting equipment which can be used to explore the Volstead House’s ‘spirit world.’ Two classes are being offered, one at 5:30 p.m. and the second at 7:30 p.m. The cost is $25 for non-members and $20 for members. The limit is ten people per class and partakers must be age 12 and up. Register by calling Mary Gillespie at 320-309-0092 or stop in at Frogs on the Footbridge.
