Clarkfield Civic and Commerce Association is hosting a haunted house and other Halloween events on Saturday, October 26 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the H.A. Hagg School.
Clarkfield City Administrator Scott Weske said that holding it at the school is a great venue with good opportunities to scare.
“When kids were growing up, they have these notions of what a school is, like when they come on the first day of school, and being able to walk the hallways in the dark adds to that,” Weske said.
For younger kids who are less willing to be scared, non-scary tours will be given from 5:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.
“We would love people to come decorate,” Weske said of the need for more volunteers. “Also they can be tour guides to walk with kids through the school.”
A children’s costume contest is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. for the age groups of up to four, four to eight and eight and older, with Clarkfield C&C Bucks as prizes.
Pricing for the event is $3 with a non-perishable food donation to the Food Shelf, and all proceeds go to the Bounce Houses during the 2014 Heart of the Prairie Days.
If you are interested in volunteering for the event, or would like more information call City Hall at (320) 669-4435, or contact a Clarkfield Civic and Commerce member.
