Cyber Safety – Catching Up With High Tech Kids will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the school’s Little Theater. Enter through Espeland Gym entrance marked door #1.
Dave Eisenmann, Minnetonka Public Schools Technology Director, will share the dangers of the cyber world and how to protect our children from becoming a cyber victim.
Keeping on top of what kids do with technology is tough and ever changing, but critical to their safety and future. Find out about potential risks associated with the wide-ranging technologies kids use, from cyber bullying and harassment, sexting and pornography, to the dangers and problems of Instagram, Vine and Snap Chat.
Learn why kids should be cautious about what information they share online and be made aware of the permanency of their digital record when using Facebook, Twitter and more.
Get tips for maintaining open dialog with kids about technology and understand the significant role you play in helping kids be responsible and safe in today’s high-tech world. Numerous ideas and free resources for use with students and/or your own children will be shared.
All parents, grandparents and community members are welcome and encouraged to attend. All those in attendance will be entered into a drawing for a free STING blanket.
