Sting lose a third straight game behind by six or fewer points.
BOLD 67, YME 61
The YME boys basketball team dropped their third game in a row by six or less points, this time against the BOLD Warriors.
But a loss didn’t mean the game was devoid of excitement. Between the lead switching many times, steals and rebounds at seemingly the best times and both groups of fans jeering at the referees, the audience got their money’s worth.
At 21, the Sting were plagued with fouls, including a bizarre foul in the first few seconds of play against Austin Vikander. 15 points of the Warriors were from free throws alone, out of a potential 24.
Logan DeBlieck once again was the top scorer, this time with 20 points. Blake Lindstrom and Grant Lalim followed with 12 and ten points respectively.
For BOLD, Nick Kubesh was the highest scorer with 17, and Austin Weis boasted a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
The Sting will travel to Paynesville on Thursday to play the 3-4 Bulldogs, which will be the last game for YME until after Christmas.
BOLD (2-0, 4-1) 26 41 — 67
