David Lee Bendickson was born in 1944 to Carroll and Edna Bendickson in Crookston, Minnesota. On August 19, 1965, he was united in marriage to Martha “Marty” Kinnick in Indianapolis, Indiana. He began his pastoral ministry in Grand Island, Nebraska, serving as the minister of the Stolley Park Church of Christ from 1983 – 1999. They moved to Davenport when David became the minister of the Central Church of Christ. Although he retired from pastoral ministry in 2008, he remained active in ministry until his Lord called him home.
He enjoyed working with his wife, Marty, selling real estate for Mel Foster Co. An avid outdoorsman, David enjoyed hunting, particularly bowhunting. This interest led him to teach kids about archery, ultimately forming Heart Shot, an active archery ministry at Adventure Christian Community.
