A multi-agency response yields no injuries.
Two people were arrested early Saturday after a police chase ended in Clarkfield, Marshall Police said.
The 26-mile car chase began after the Marshall Walmart reported a theft of a large dollar amount of merchandise.
24-year-old Jimmy Alexander Gogoi from Willmar and a 42-year-old homeless woman, Veronica Turrubiates, evaded police in Marshall and went north on Highway 59.
“When they crossed Yellow Medicine County, our deputies put out some stop strips,” Yellow Medicine County Sheriff Bill Flaten said.
The multi-agency chase included the help of the Sheriff’s departments from Lyon and Yellow Medicine County, as well as the Minnesota State Patrol.
After crashing into a snowbank near the Filling Station, the two suspects fled on foot, but were apprehended and sent back to Marshall shortly after. No injuries were reported.
“When it happens like that -- no injuries, no property damage -- it is good,” Flaten said.
The suspects were arrested on numerous charges including: Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle, Burglary, Felony Theft, and Obstruction of Legal Process.
