  • Stacy Jacobson has returned to the Clarkfield Care Center after many years working in Granite Falls, this time taking the reins as Director of Nursing.
“We are very pleased to have Stacy working with us,” Care Center Administrator Murray Finger said. “She brings a lot of experience from the hospital that will transfer well to long-term care.”
With many years of experience under her belt, Jacobson is no stranger to the world of nursing care. On top of her LPN and RN degrees from Ridgewater College in Willmar, she has worked in long term care, acute care and has even taught Comprehensive Advanced Life Support (CALS).
Jacobson had been working for the Granite Falls Hospital since 2003, and started her career at the Clarkfield Care Center in 1999.
“It feels like coming back home,” Jacobson said. “Since I started [in February] a lot of the first nurses that mentored me I have been working with again, so that has been really exciting.”
Besides the Care Center workers, Jacobson said she has been greatly supported by her family and former workers in Granite Falls.
“I left on good terms with the staff,” Jacobson said. “I wasn’t looking for a job; it just kind of happened,”
Previously she and her husband, Kris, lived in Clarkfield, the town that he was raised in.
“We have strong ties to the community, both Granite Falls and Clarkfield, so I feel really comfortable,” Jacobson said.
The Director of Nursing position runs the gamut in terms of duties, including overseeing the nursing staff, infection control, quality assurance, log incidents as well as human resources. Jacobson even hopes to be a part of the marketing process in the future.
“I basically just won’t have to make the meals,” Jacobson joked. “But yeah, I’ve been enjoying it very much. It like it here a lot.”
