  • The outdoor track season opened in BOLD with a bang, with several individuals finishing first for both the girls and boys teams, and first place overall for the boys.
“We had a lot of really great performances so early in the year,” said Coach Jim Ford. “What is everyone going to do now? We are going to jump a little higher and run a little faster.”
For track events, Jacob Pederson, Jacob Carroll, Cassie Weir and both the boys 4x400 and 4x800 events were first place finishers. For field events, Josh Hoernemann was first in the discus throw and Jacob Pederson was first in the long jump.
Jacob Pederson finished first in four activities, including the 100 meter dash, the 400 meter dash, the long jump and, with a time of 22.74, the 200 meter dash, missing the school record by a tenth of a second.
With a time of 6:12.72, Cassie Weir won the 1600 meter run, with the second place finisher coming in 11 seconds later.
Jacob Carroll ran the 800  and 1600 meter run, as well as starting off the boys 4x400 meter run, all of which were first place runs.
