In an appearance at the Yellow Medicine County Courthouse on April 8, Kelly Anderson-Person, 35, of Hendricks admitted to violating terms of her release and was also arraigned on two new charges after the City of Clarkfield alleged that she violated the terms of a domestic abuse no contact order, according to the West Central Tribune
On March 4 Anderson-Person pleaded guilty to child endangerment for an incident in August when she pulled out a gun and attempted suicide while being interviewed by law officers and holding her then-nine-month-old daughter in her lap.
The incident, which occurred at her home in Clarkfield on August 13, occurred when two officers from South Dakota interviewed her in regard to the remains of two infants that were found in November of 2012 on property located on Fish Lake in Deuel County in eastern South Dakota.
Anderson-Person reportedly pulled a .38-caliber revolver from under her sofa and put it to her head after admitting to disposing of the two infants that she told the officers she had given birth to in 2009 and 2011. Officers wrestled the gun away from her hands and the incident concluded without injury.
At the April 8 court appearance, Anderson-Person said that she violated her parole by drinking beer on her birthday. As a result, District Judge Dwayne Knutsen set a bail amount of $6,000 for her release with conditions and $10,000 without. After a brief stint in jail she posted bail.
As for the two misdemeanor charges for violating the no contact order, it was alleged that Anderson-Person contacted her husband by text message and a Valentine's card with a note she asked be conveyed to their child.
She is scheduled to be sentenced on May 6 for the matter and could face up to a year in jail.
