A bike trail workshop hosted by the Minnesota Department of Transportation turned out about 50 individuals from the 12 southwestern county District 8 this past Wednesday.
Held at the Kilowatt Community Center, the meeting was one of 12 held across the state in attempt to seek bicycle information detailing community bicycling preferences, opportunities and barriers so that MnDOT is able to potentially incorporate bicycling amenities in the project designs so that individuals aren’t approaching them afterward and asking: why didn’t you do this? A not uncommon occurrence according to Greta Alquist, principal planner for MnDOT in St. Paul.
Those unable to attend the event are able to offer their input and learn more via a MnDOT website: www.mndot.gov/bike
