Granite Falls Walking Theater Auditions will be held above the Granite Falls Bank and F&M Insurancebuilding on Wednesday, July 16 and on Wednesday, July 23 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. each day and on Saturday, July 19 and Saturday, July 26 from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m each day.
Join dedicated area community members to create a Granite Falls-based theater production revolving around local cooperative revitalization efforts of the past that will take place on and around Main Street Granite Falls during the opening night of the 2014 Meander: Upper Minnesota River Valley Arts Crawl on Friday, October 3.
Over the past two years, the Granite Falls area community has worked in concert with Ashley Hanson and Andrew Gaylord of PlaceBase Productions to create three historically inspired productions that have served to highlight the colorful legacy and natural beauty of the area.
This year’s Meander opening night performance will be an entirely community driven production that, more than ever, will require local talent, creativity and energy.
Open auditions will be held above the Granite Falls Bank and F&M Insurance building on Wednesday, July 16 and 23 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., and on Saturday, July 19 and 26 from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. Individuals can bring their own short monologue or musical piece to perform. Otherwise, audition materials will be provided on site.
We are looking for actors, singers, storytellers, musicians, dancers, visual artists, Granite Falls-enthusiasts, costume and prop-makers, volunteers and project assistants. Rehearsals and work sessions will be scheduled after casting and will take place throughout August and September.
For more information or to sign-up for an audition contact or visit Betsy at the Granite Falls Chamber of Commerce in downtown Granite Falls: 320-564-4039, gfchamber@mvtvwireless.com. No experience is necessary and all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the SW MN Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation form the arts and cultural heritage fund
