Laddy Lee Cusick, 87, of Shoreview. Born January 31, 1930 in Vermillion South Dakota. Passed away May 16, 2017 in Roseville Estates in Saint Paul Minnesota. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, June 9 at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Ripley. Refreshments to follow at Olive Garden in Waite Park (St. Cloud).
As a child Laddy was baptized in the Christian faith. He attended Burbank elementary school and graduated in 1948 from Vermillion high school in South Dakota. After graduation Laddy served two times in the US Navy. He was an engineer man on a landing craft in the Korean War. After the war Laddy went to work on the construction traveling as a concrete foreman for the Highline. He met and married Darlene (Anderson) Cusick. They traveled with the construction highline from North Dakota to Arizona and back to the Anderson Farm settling down in 1963 to farm and raise their five children. Laddy eventually took up managing the Boyd Farm Chemical Plant and stayed there until it closed. In 1983 Laddy met and married Mona Anderson.
Laddy was a member of the Boyd Legion. He also drove truck for Veiseman trucking for six years. When retired he enjoyed golfing, cooking and even some stained glass work. He enjoyed his time at Rush Lake and many social evenings in Mesa before returning to Minnesota.
Laddy was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Inez Cusick, his sister Linda (Cusick) Buckingham and her husband Thomas, his stepdaughter Becky (Anderson) Serena.
Laddy is survived by his wife, Mona Ruth Anderson Cusick; his children Laddy Lee Jr. (Julia) Cusick, Kim (Rob) Stephens, Jeff (Maritza) Cusick, Melvin Cusick, Michelle (Cusick) Vogel; and step-children Barry (Tess) Anderson, BobbieJo (Bouchaib) Moijid, Bruce (Kim) Anderson, Beth (Brett) Garraghan; grandchildren Kevin Moe, Jenny (Ryan) Bailey, Cara Kirk, Riley Cusick, Rachael Cusick, David Cusick, Carley Cusick, Morgan Cusick, Vicky (Vogel) Edevold, Marcus Vogel and many great grandchildren.
