Dan Johnson of Maple Lake, formerly of Granite Falls, quietly and peacefully passed away on Friday, June 2 in Maple Lake. He was in one of his favorite places, outside sitting and enjoying the outdoors. He was 66 years old. Memorial Services were held on Friday, June 9 at 10:00 a.m. at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home Chapel in Granite Falls followed by burial in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.

Dan was the first-born to Dennis and Darlene (Hempel) Johnson on August 10, 1950. He attended and graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1968. Dan enjoyed spending time with his children when he could, and working on his 1977 Chevy pickup truck. He also loved watching his favorite old western movies. He was truly looking forward to moving to Appleton on June 3rd, to be near his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his children Tamara (Bob) Wilts of Appleton, Angela Johnson (fiancé Ron Strommer) of Montevideo and Nathan (Tiffany) Johnson of Montevideo; his grandchildren Cameron, Austin, Cheyanne, and Summer; his brother Mark of Redding, CA. and his children Matthew and Nicole and their families; his sister Marsha of Maple Lake and her daughter, Ashley and her family; his uncle and aunt Donald and Shirley Hempel, the mother of his children Belinda Utterback, and many relatives and cousins in the Granite Falls area.
