The Dawson Co-op Credit Union is in the process of building a new branch office in Boyd. The project was in the planning stages for several months with ground breaking taking place in the beginning of April. Scott Thaemlitz Construction is the general contractor of the project. The new branch office will include a couple of features not currently available in Boyd. A drive-up window and a 24-hour ATM machine will be installed to make it easier and more convenient for its members. The Dawson Co-op Credit Union first opened an office in Boyd in the spring of 2004 and later moved to its present location in March of 2012. The completion date for the new office is scheduled for the fall of 2017. Dawson Co-op Credit Union is member-owned and serves the counties of Lac qui Parle, Renville, Yellow Medicine, Big Stone, Chippewa, and Swift. In addition to the Boyd location, offices are located in Dawson and Renville. Deposit accounts are federally insured up to $250,000 with NCUA.
