The city of Granite Falls is working with the Upper Minnesota Regional Development Commission to apply for a grant from the Small Cities Development Program (SCDP) through the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). This grant is for funds to help homeowners, rental property owners and commercial business owners rehab their buildings.

Surveys were sent out from each of the cities to all households. These “Notice of Intent to Participate” forms need to be filled out and returned by October 14th, 2017. The more responses received from the community, the more competitive our grant applications will be.

An informational community meeting will be held on October 12th at 7:30 pm at Granite Falls City Hall.

The aim of these funds is to assist low to moderate income individuals and reduce substandard commercial buildings. Come to the community meeting to learn more about who is eligible and how this housing program can help your community.

Please send back the survey by October 14th. You can either send to the upper Minnesota Valley Regional Development Commission, bring them to the meeting on October 12th or drop off at your city office.
