The Lady Sting had a non-conference game against Ortonville on Tuesday. The first set was very back and forth, neither team got more than two points ahead. An ace from Meeghen Dahlager won the set 26-24. Coach Fadness had the Sting tweak their intensity going in to the second set. Mackenzie Dyrdahl kicked off the second set with strong serves, getting the Sting six points. The trojans scored a few points as YME worked to close the set. A missed hit by the Trojans gave the Sting the set 25-9. The Sting continued their focus and discipline to control the pace in the third set. YME stayed in the lead as Ortonville gradually scored 15-9. The Sting pulled away and won the third set 25-11. Sections starts after this week. Coach Fadness is excited but also says “It’s crunch time. We can’t take anything for granted. We’ve got a lot of work to do.
