The Sting Boys kicked off the Snow Week of sports in a home game against Lakeview. YME started with an aggressive full court press that slowed down the Laker’s offense. Trent Skjefte had two solid blocks, and Ethan Peterson stole the ball quite a few times, forcing turnovers. A last second three point shot from Lakeview’s Tyler Imes gave them a slight lead at the end of the first half 24-27.

During the second half, the Sting struggled with holding on to the ball. They ended up with over twice as many turnovers as Lakeview. This let the Lakers rack up a lead and finished the game 68-48.

Bennet Knapper led the Sting with 20 points, including an impressive 5 three point shots. Ethan Peterson scored 11 points, and Jahrell Ischmon scored nine.

YME vs ACGC

Last Friday the Sting boys faced off against ACGC at home. The Falcons established an early lead, but both teams scored a decent number of points. ACGC finished the first half with a 12 point lead 22-34. During the second half the Sting struggled with accuracy for both shooting and passing. The Falcons put on a lot of pressure. There were a total of 25 turnovers from YME, compared to just 8 from ACGC. That's probably one of the biggest factors for the scoring difference. The final was 45-69 for a Sting loss.

Nicky Lindstrom and Trent Skjefte led the Sting with eight points each, followed by Bennet Knapper and Jahrell Ischmon with seven apiece. Jaren Kaddatz lead ACGC with 16 points, followed by Dawson Miller with 13.
